London Grassroots Football Awards: A Night for Volunteers

London Grassroots Football Awards: A Night for Volunteers

On Wednesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the London Grassroots Football Awards, hosted by our partners at London FA, with special guest Chris Hughton.

The night was dedicated to recognising the volunteers, coaches, referees and organisers who give their time to make grassroots football possible across the capital.

From welfare officers to long-serving club secretaries, the awards highlighted people who often work quietly in the background. Every winner and nominee represented the care and commitment that grassroots football relies on.

Earlier this year, I joined the judging panel to help select the winners. It was not an easy task. The standard of nominations was high across every category. Each nominee had made a genuine difference in their local community.

Attending alongside Centre Circle CEO Rohan Anand, I was reminded why our work matters.

Grassroots football runs on volunteers. When they are supported and recognised, the whole game benefits. Seeing so many people who give up evenings and weekends for their clubs reinforced the need to keep building tools that reduce their workload, not add to it.

Thank You to London FA

Thank you to the team at London FA for the warm welcome and for continuing to champion the people who keep football running across London.

We are proud to work alongside you and to support the volunteers who make the game happen every week.
